A New Era for Fairway
Wally Schuba of Fairway Marine has produced well over 150 36 Fairways in the past 20 years or so. This evergreen Fairway has seen a few modifications over the years to keep it up to date and has always been well sought after. Wally has recently handed over the marketing and sales of the Fairway to a new business set up by Stewart Smith, Marc Hall and David Wright all with long and well established reputations in the industry. Their new business United Motor Yachts operates out of a new office at the Hope Island Marina in Suite 1b in the Boardwalk building. United Motor Yachts will be selling all types of used yachts and power boats as well as some new prestige brands of Motor yachts, to be announced shortly.
Stewart, Marc and David plan to follow on the good work and future wishes of Wally by adding a new larger model of around 46 feet with walk around side decks and even more long distance capability. It is expected that the new 46 will be introduced in mid-2013. Plans are already underway for a smaller model as well as a new boat around 56 feet. The complete range will all follow the established Fairway theme of capable, economical, and high quality boats designed and built to go seriously to sea.
After some cosmetic upgrading and the addition of a high quality timber interior it is envisaged that the New Fairway 36 will be re launched later tin 2012. The New 36 will be available as a complete package with Bow and Stern Thrusters, Generator and Air-conditioning, extended hardtop, quality internal timber finish and all covers and deck equipment included.
Stewart, Marc and David would like to hear from any of the current and previous owners of Fairway 36 vessels as they are putting together a register and history of the class. They would like to create an association of owners and in future organize events and produce a newsletter.
